WorkAmore was a design project in collaboration with Mistletoe to propose a system that could generate serendipity in the workspace. What my team proposed was an app based transport system similar to that of current car sharing services, except with several key changes. The aim of this system is based on the concept that coming up with new ideas is easier while on the move compared to being restricted to an office desk all day. Inspiration often comes as one is in motion, seeing different sights, and this resulted in a mobile workspace that will allow the user to watch the world go by as they work. With greater exposure to the activity of the outside world, the opportunity for serendipity thus increases, as compared to following the regular routine of the office. As a design intended for the near future, the vehicles would be driverless, and the route would be customisable for the user. This offers the opportunity for "workplaces" to become more flexible and better suited for the individual's needs.
